Project Proposal
For the final project I decided to focus on the evolution of women in Hollywood films. I’ll create online blog and discusses how women evolved in film, starting from the silent era to present day. The purpose of project is to show the progress women made in the way they are portrayed in the film.
The male gaze in Hollywood is still present. However this project will show how it decreased over the years and progress women made in motion picture industry. The blog will be the review/critique page for the films.

The goal of the blog will be to show that the films centered around strong female characters are prevalent and in demand. It’ll demonstrate the importance  of accurate representation of women in Hollywood cinema.

  1. Hey Katherine,

I think having a blog with films centered around strong female characters would be a great idea. Unfortunately, as we have discussed while there is some change, there isn't much difference. There is a lot of gender bias so perhaps you can discuss that and including the reasoning behind it to explain the importance of having + watching the films you pick.

  2. Hey Ekaterine,
Sorry to reply so late to your project proposal!
My suggestion is that I think your project would be more interesting if you made a timeline that looks something like this

It could be on your blog if you really wanted, or on a powerpoint. First it would help to narrow down the years you want the project to feature. You can take inspiration from something like this

You can also discuss about some possible solutions to showcasing more accurate representation of women by supporting and crowdfunding their projects, etc. Hope this kind of helped!
